Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will be welcomed by a guide who will drive north from Rwanda to Volcanoes National Park, with spectacular views of the Virunga Mountains en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi Guest House, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, or Bisate Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking & Cultural /Nature Walk

Breakfast, then head to the park headquarters with a packed lunch and water for a briefing on the dos and don’ts for gorilla tracking, then proceed to track the gorillas. The time spent searching for these gentle giants ranges from 2 to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movement. Dinner and overnight stay at your respective lodges on DAY 1.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking
Enjoy your breakfast and head for yet another adventure of tracking the rare golden monkeys in the bamboo forest. Return to the lodge for lunch and leave for Kigali. Dinner and overnight stay in Kigali.
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Have breakfast and drive to southwestern Rwanda to Nyungwe Forest National Park. En route, stop in Butare town to visit the Rwanda National Museum, then the Murambi Genocide Memorial Museum. Proceed to the forest, relax at the lodge, and wait for dinner and overnight at One&Only Nyungwe House / Peace guest house / Nyungwe hill top view hotel, or Gisakura Guest house.
Day 5: Chimps and other primates tracking, afternoon canopy walk

After breakfast, proceed to the forest for chimpanzee tracking with the park rangers. Expect encounters with other primates, including colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, vervets, mangabeys, and many others. After lunch, we go on a canopy walk adventure, have dinner, and stay overnight, as on DAY 4.
Day 6: Departure.
Have breakfast and drive back to Kigali, with an en route visit to the Murambi genocide memorial, Rwanda National Museum in Huye, and Nyanza King’s Palace, as well as the Gisozi genocide memorial centre in Kigali, and do last-minute shopping before driving to the airport for the scheduled flight back home.
