Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Volcanoes National park
You will be welcomed by our company representative who transfers you to Volcanoes National Park viewing the spectacular scenery of the Virunga Mountains en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi Guest House / Hotel La Palme / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / Gorillas Nest / Virunga Lodge / Sabyinyo Silverback lodge.
Day 2: First Gorilla Tracking & Cultural /Nature Walk
Breakfast and head to the park headquarters with packed lunch & water for a briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas then proceed to track the gorillas. Time take searching for these Gentle giants ranges between 2-8hours depending on the movement of gorillas. In the evening, we can take a nature walk to the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, or go for Musanze caves exploration with extra payment of USD50 per person. Dinner and overnight stay at your respective lodges on DAY 1.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Tracking/community walk
This is another chance to enjoy gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. You can choose to visit the same gorilla group or a different one. We can take an evening walk to Musanze local market and interact with local people. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking/ Dian Fossey Tombs Tour/ mt. Bishoke hike
After breakfast, you will go to track the golden monkeys in the bamboo forest, or adventurous hike to Dian Fossey Tombs nestled between the beautiful peaks of Vishoke and Karisimbi. We also have Musanze caves exploration before driving back to Kigali. Return to the lodge for lunch and leave for Kigali, if you missed a city tour on DAY 1, then we do it here to Gisozi genocide memorial site, local art & craft shops, do last minute shopping before heading to the airport for your departure flight.
