Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Pick up from your hotel by 8am after breakfast and hit the road to the home of gorillas, en route stop at the equator for photographs and break tea, and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National park. It is located in a hilly countryside, together with some remnant lowland forest outside the boundary. You will arrive by early evening, check into your rooms, dinner and overnight at Wagtail Eco Safari Camp, Gorilla Mist Camp, Bwindi Jungle Lodge Gift of Nature Lodge, Chameleon Hill Lodge or Mahogany Springs Lodge.
Day 2: 1st Gorilla Trekking
Breakfast followed by a briefing before setting off to the forest in search for gorillas. You must have packed water. The time you will take searching these gentle giants ranges between 2 to 8hrs depending on how they move in their natural environment. You must be physically fit to trek through steep rocks and slippery jungle grounds, climbing up and down making it tiresome. However, the thrill of encountering these giant Apes erases the poor memories you went through in trying to search for them. Retire to your lodge for late lunch, time permitting, take an evening walk to nearby communities or Batwa people (pygmies) or cultural entertainment. Dinner and overnight as on DAY 1.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking
Like the previous day, today we visit a different gorilla group of your choice or a group in your ability to track. Return to the lodge for late lunch and transfer to Kabale town, dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia cottages / Bird Nest Resort on the shores of the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 4: Canoe Ride, Departure
Breakfast, take a canoe ride to different islands on lake Bunyonyi before driving back to Kampala / Entebbe airport for your departure flight (8-10hrs), or we can connect to Rwanda, Kigali Airport through Katuna or Cyanika boarder (3-4hrs). This marks the end of the tour.
