14 Days Diani Beach and wildlife safari in Kenya plus Rwanda Gorilla trip
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda- Transfer to Volcanoes National park
Our safari guide will pick you from Kigali international airport and transfer you to the home of Rwanda’s Gorillas. Arrival for relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge Or Kinigi Guest House.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking- Visit the Gisozi Genocide memorial site – Fly to Nairobi, Kenya
After breakfast, we have a briefing and then transfer for the life time event “Gorilla tracking” Stay with them for a maximum of one hour and then return to your lodge for Lunch, transfer to Kigali to visit Gisozi Genocide memorial museum then fly to Nairobi Kenya for dinner and overnight at Nairobi Serena Hotel, Sankara Nairobi, Laico Regency Hotel OR The Sarova Stanley.
Day 3: Nairobi to Naivasha
After breakfast, a pre-departure meeting will be held before you head to Lake Nakuru for an afternoon game drive and watch the sunset from Baboon Cliff. Lake Nakuru is famous for the thousands of pink flamingos that line its shores in a stunning spectacle. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Game Lodges, Tented Safari Camps or Beach Resort.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha
After an early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru, travel through the scenic Mount Kenya highlands, with an optional stop at Hells Gate National Park, before enjoying High Tea in grand colonial-style at Joy Adamson’s Elsamere near Lake Naivasha. In the afternoon, you head out on a boat safari on the soda lake which is a great opportunity to see the variety of birdlife.
Day 5: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
In the morning travel to the Masai Mara, host to the Great Wildebeest migration from July to September. Experience an afternoon game drive in the dramatic park with its sweeping plains. It is home to the greatest concentration of plains game on Earth and the largest population of Lions in Africa. Dinner and overnight at Maji Moto Eco Camp, Mara Bush House, Mara Bush House OR Dorobo Bush Camp.
Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve
In the morning of your Kenya beach safari, you could choose to include an optional Hot Air balloon ride – one of the most magical ways to take in the Mara ecosystem or just spend the day exploring the park on morning game drive. After a tasty lunch and some time to relax, you visit a traditional Masai Manyatta. This is a great way to learn about the local tribes customs and see what life is like in traditional rural Africa. Return for dinner and overnight at your lodge as previously.
Day 7: Return to Nairobi
After an early morning game drive in the Mara, head back to Nairobi, where you have the remainder of the day at your leisure. Relax in the confines of your hotel or head out and explore the bustling city. We may visit the Karen Blixen Museum or the Langata Giraffe Centre. In the evening you can choose to add in dinner at the World famous Carnivore Restaurant. Stay at Nairobi Serena Hotel, Hilton Nairobi, Laico Regency Hotel OR The Heron Portico.
Day 8: Transfer to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, head out to one of Kenya’s Premier National Parks, Amboseli. In the evening you’ll embark on a thrilling night game drive in the surrounding conservancy area which allows you to see predators on the prowl and the many nocturnal animals that live in the conservancy. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Hotel, Amboseli Sopa Lodge, Satao Elerai Lodge OR Kilimanjaro Guest House.
Day 9: Amboseli National Park
You have the morning at leisure to relax or enjoy some of the optional activities available at the camp such as a thrilling walking safari – there is nothing like encountering wildlife on foot. Afterwards, you can tuck into a refreshing lunch before a siesta. In the afternoon set out on a game drive in the park where you will enjoy sundowners while watching the sun slip below the horizon. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Transfer to Tsavo West National Park
Continue your journey to one of the largest National Parks in the world, Tsavo, heading to the Western side for an afternoon game drive. The park is famous for two Lions that were man-eaters a100 years ago. The Elephants here are often reddish coloured due to dust bathing in the red coloured soil. Dinner and overnight at Ngulia Safari Lodge, Leopard Lodge, Ashnil Aruba Lodge OR Epiya Chapeyu Tented Camp.
Day 11: Mombasa, Diani Beach
Leaving the wilds of Tsavo, head for the coastal haven of Mombasa, where you have the remainder of the day to explore the vibrant town. Enjoy your Mombasa beach holiday and relax on the beautiful sandy white beach and sip a refreshing cocktail. Take in the tropical beauty of the coastline. Dinner and overnight at Villa Mapenzi, Apple Mango Apartments, Sunrise Cottage OR Villa Dora
Day 12 & 13: Mombasa, Diani Beach
You will have the next two days during your Kenya beach resort holiday to enjoy at your leisure and savour the laidback African beach lifestyle. Work on your tan, play a game of volleyball, go sailing, jet-skiing or snorkelling. Cool off with a refreshing dip in the Ocean before savouring a leisurely lunch. All meals on full board.
Day 14: Mombasa – Departure
On the final morning of your Kenya & Mombasa Safari Beach Holiday, there might be time for one last dip in the Ocean before a lingering breakfast after which you will fly out from Mombasa International Airport for your flight back home.
