Detailed Itinerary
Day1: Arrival in Rwanda & transfer to Volcanoes National park
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our company representatives who transfer you to Volcanoes National Park viewing the spectacular scenery of the Virunga Mountains en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi Guest House, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
Day2: Gorilla Tracking & Visit the beautiful twin lakes: Burera & Buhondo
After breakfast, we shall head to the park headquarters with packed lunch & water for a briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas then proceed to track the gorillas. Time take searching for these Gentle giants ranges between 2-6 hours depending on the movement of gorillas. In the evening, we can take a nature walk to the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, here, photographing is AMUST!! Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking – Afternoon relaxation
After breakfast, you will go to track the golden monkeys in the bamboo forest. Return to your Lodge for lunch; relax with a clear view of the wonderful Virunga ranges. Dinner and overnight at your lodge as on previously.
Day 4: Musanze Cave exploration & fly to Nairobi
After breakfast, we shall have Musanze caves exploration before driving back to Kigali for a city tour. Proceed to Kigali to visit Gisozi genocide memorial site, local art & craft shops. Transfer to Kigali Serena Hotel Manor Hotel OR Step Town Hotel
Day 5: Fly to Kenya – Afternoon relaxation at the Hotel
After breakfast, we shall enjoy the flight to Nairobi – Kenya. Relax at Nairobi Serena Hotel, Sankara Nairobi, The Sarova Stanley, Laico Regancy Hotel, and Hilton Nairobi, The Kenya Comfort Hotel Suite OR The Heron Portico.
Day 6: Transfer to Masai Mara National Park
After breakfast, we shall transfer to Masai Mara National park. Masai Mara hosts all the big 5 wild animals: Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino and Cheetah with cubs Leopard. Masai Mara Game Reserve has many wild-life species and hundreds of bird-species. Masai Mara is one of the Seven Wonders of the World due to its Annual Wildebeest Migration which takes place in the months of July and August.
En-route stopover at the Great Rift Valley and proceed through Longonot and Suswa and on to the Western walls with another stopover at Narok for re-fuelling. En route lunch and then continue with the journey to Mara in time for evening game drive in the Mara popular for the Big five (Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffalo and Rhinos). The team returns to Camp late in the evening just in time for dinner. A campfire gathering under clear Africa’s Sky follows after dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge, Kicheche Bush Camp, Maji Moto Eco Camp, Mara Bush House, Kensington Mara West, Mara Siria Tented Camp, Dorobo Bush Camp OR Kandili Camp.
Day 7:Full day game viewing
After breakfast, we shall move to enjoy a full day at the Masai Mara game reserve viewing a variety of attractions. Our 4 x 4 safari van with a pop up for clear viewing will enable us photographing and critical viewing of wild life. Expect to view the big cats (black manned lions, Cheetahs and leopards and so on. After picnic lunch, we proceed with the game drive to see vast herds of wildebeest and zebra wander across the Mara grasslands in huge numbers during this period of the annual migrations take place, when millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traverse the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich new grass from the Serengeti. You also have a chance to see other plain game like the Topi, heartbeats, Eland. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Return to Nairobi City – Departure
After breakfast, we shall return to Nairobi city for lunch and then transfer to Nairobi International Airport for your flight back home.
