Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is found near to the Volcanoes National Park head offices from where tourists trek on foot to see the amazing rare and endangered mountain gorillas – perhaps one of the most amazing, exciting, poignant and memorable wildlife watching experiences possible.
The lodge, located on the bases of the mighty Virunga volcanoes, the chain of 15,000 ft volcanic ranges extending through Uganda, Rwanda and the DR.Congo, the lodge also offers a magnificent view of the Virunga volcanoes and the surrounding countryside. Cottages and the main lodge building have been beautifully built and designed and the lodge is the perfect place from where a tourist can explore this interesting and unique corner of Africa.
The lodge was constructed and managed by Governors’ Camp. The lodge is owned by a Community Trust, SACOLA, which utilizes rentals and community fees from the lodge to drive socio economic and conservation activities in the communities neighboring the park.
